This is a regional dish. It can be served as breakfast or lunch.
Serving size: 4-5 persons
Preparation time: 30 min.
Ingredients:
Rice: 1 cup
Grated coconut: 1/4 cup (optional)
Chana Dal: 1/8 cup (optional)
Salt to taste
Method:
Wash the rice, spread it on big tissue paper.
When it is dry, grind it into coarse powder ( idly rawa consistency)
Add 2 cups of water. Bring it to boil.
Add salt and Chana dal.
Add rice flour while stirring it continuously.
Sprinkle grated coconut..
Keep stirring till it is done.
Keep aside.
When it is lukewarm, make tennis ball sized balls out of the dough.
Serve with any pickle/ chutney.
